You really have to wonder why we pay taxes when our governments are allowing a practice as property value destroying as “fracking” to be conducted anywhere anyhow by anybody.

My head almost exploded recently when a Kevin O’Leary stand-in on CBC’s Lang/O’Leary Exchange claimed, “oh well, you can sue”.

Ah yes, suing the gas company.

I think he must have seen one too many Ma & Pa Kettle episodes.

The thing is, fracking is destroying the very concept of property ownership. I mean, why would anyone risk buying land with the intention of farming it if Big Gas can just come along and poison the well water?

There’s nothing anyone has been able to do about it, either, not by way of redress, if that’s even possible.

Be honest, how many times have you seen reports of country landowners being able to light their tap water on fire and thought, “Thank Carp Almighty I live in the city”.

It’s all our property. We need to stand up for each other. Because if one citizen can have her water poisoned by investors who don’t give rat’s ass about anything except making money, we can all have our water poisoned.

And our governments are failing us, they are completely and utterly failing us.

   Contemplate a vast network of pipelines.. many many networks.. like spider webs, only without symmetry.. woven through farmland near roads or right of ways throughout Pennsylvania. Or without environmental regulation are hammered into the wilderness of northeast British Columbia where there are almost no roads. Picture all this dropped into 65% of Great Britain’s farmland & weaving laneways or North Dakota or Maine’s forest areas and backroads & secondary highways.

   And somehow every one of those pipeline webs connects to a frack site that is fed by inbound freshwater pipelines sucking from river and lakes, supported by hundreds of truckloads of frack sand, pipe, drill rod, chemical, diesel fuel, trailers, compressors plus a flowback holding pond for radioactive & chemically laced fracking fluids and a product (gas or oil) pumped off via the outbound pipelines, crossing river n dale & fish or wildlife habitat to compressor stations and aggregator pipelines.. and finally, after a long journey making it to either a liquefaction installation, in Kitimaat or Vancouver, or perhaps to Liverpool, or to a tank farm in Portland, Maine or to a refinery on the Gulf coast of Texas..

   If its the BC or Alberta frack product.. after surviving, the tides, reefs, shocking gales n running over migrating whales of the twisting archipelago of British Columbia.. a cadre of newly trained Chinese skippers will drop off the Canadian pilots, float free of all their escort tugs and head their monster ships westward ho, to China.

   There they will dock the super LNG tankers or VLCC dilbit tankers to a portside matirix of pumps, tank farms, compressor pumps, pipelines… and start distributing whatever their cargo is.. into the gaping bottomless maw of Chinese electric generating stations, manufacturing plants .. and so on

   And all will be harmonious and copacetic… in ever ever land and Ottawalberta.. and in the fracked lands.
   For this process to go ahead.. we accept the government that’s ‘managing’ the process .. and spending the related royalties, to flush the monies into advertising and TV time extolling just how amazing and smart they are, and monitoring how we perceive them or might not vote again for them via dull mainstream media.. and polls.

   And.. they expect that force-feeding us complete nonsense re F-35′s, torture states, secrecy & obstruction, prorogation, Israel uber alles, military support ships, pro life shenanigans via walking dead backbench MP’s, electoral fraud and vote suppression and cover ups and denials is OK. As well as no helicopters except for Ministers who like fishing.. and the wild salmon dying is not really happening, the scientist and biologist deserve to be muzzled.. and let’s poison the wolves, robo wank, sell asbestos, build east Asian military bases.. redact and litigate .. and that locking themselves in bathrooms and having a good old fashioned temper tantrum… is uh

   All for the Rapture, Jobs, The Economy and Good Government…..
   and despite being delivered with a sanctimonious sneer….
