I know I shouldn't, but really - I can't help myself. What difference could it possibly make to anyone except a Christian God if a soul isn't sent His way because it wasn't ever conceived?
What's the "pro-choice" line? "Every child should be wanted"? Not anymore. The progressive position has subtly evolved: Every child should be unwanted.
Sigh. No. Actually. The pro-choice line is still the same, Dear Reader, in spite of Mark Steyn. Essentially, if you want a child, have a child. Or don't. Just don't tell another women that she has to have a child. And maybe if you're a man accusing Muslims of being backward and you're being called on it and expecting Feminists to rush to your defence because the group calling you on it is the Canadian Islamic Congress, sigh - just. shut. the. fuck. up.

See, you can European it, (hehe), Western it, but you may as well just come out with it - for some reason, you think (obsessively) that more white Christian babies is the answer to all the world's problems.

The birth of a child. On the one hand, what could be more powerless than a newborn babe? On the other, without a newborn babe, man is ultimately powerless. For, without new life, there can be no civilization, no society, no nothing. Even if it's superstitious mumbo-jumbo, the decision to root Christ's divinity in the miracle of His birth expresses a profound - and rational - truth about "eternal life" here on earth.
