The Canadian Pursuit of Happiness
Sometimes I think what really makes us different from Americans is our definition of Happiness as opposed to theirs.
I mean, down south, where life is two-thirds tropical paradise, Happiness is wherever that Pursuit may lead, as guaranteed by the Constitution. Up here, it's really just stability, with a little state security tossed on top, just in case.
Maybe it's the climate, but your right to pursue Happiness pretty much runs smack into my right to not allow you to freeze to death.
But tell me, Dear Reader, is it nature or nurture that sets our national Happiness bar at the level of a basic need while south of the border, well, there is no Happiness bar?
