Legalizing Lawlessness
I wonder if the same guys who went door-to-door selling sub-prime mortgages in the United States are the same guys who go door-to-door in Ontario claiming to be from the gas company and demanding to see your bill so they can give you your rebate.
It's hard to believe Ontario elected Mike Harris twice. But then I look at Stephen Harper and his New Conservative cabinet and I realize Mikey's worst henchmen were elected a whole level of treasury looting higher.
Anyway, seeing Shantytown, USA, made me wonder - how come the United States looks more like Mexico and less like Canada in these NAFTA days, and if we could have a look down the road to our own future, will we be on our knees in gratitude to a rigid unmoving government bureacracy and a stolid parsimonious banking system?
