Sought After Biased Commentary
You know, I'd put the Olympics on a par with the UN - good in theory, requiring a helluva lot of scrutiny in practice. Still, the International Olympic Committee has to be in a league of corruption even beyond the worst United Nations secretariat.
So why is the media asking Jacques Rogge his opinion regarding Tibetan unrest in defiance of Chinese oppression? I mean, it's not like he's unbiased. Cripes, the IOC has more in common with the communist dictators of China than Russian figure skating judges had with characters straight out of Animal Farm.
And excuse me for playing media watchdog, but in my opinion, interviewing him at all lends a legitimacy to his opinions that would otherwise not exist. I don't care to hear what Jacques Rogge thinks of what is going on in Tibet right now because his opinion is going to be as biased as it is irrelevant.
