Democratic Party Rallying Cry
Okay. I'm not really over my bitterness that the men of the Democratic Party stayed true to form and didn't elect a woman to lead their party into the Presidential election against John McCain, but I've come up with a campaign slogan (ditch the "change" theme, guys - McCain's already bastardized it) to show everybody up:
"Now that you can't elect a woman (thanks to us) - America, tear down that wall and elect a man of colour as President of the United States, at least!"
I like the "at least" at the end best. It says so much about the politics of men, these days. Because lip service aside, take a look at who still runs everything everywhere - and who doesn't but, boyo, yeah. Someday. Uh hunh. Yup. Someday, the just right woman will come along. You betcha. But she's gotta have it all, you know, like men who get elected President do. None of this special treatment for the little woman. Or Hillary Clinton.
She's got to be a solid Democract with experience. A Feminist, but not TOO Feminist. A bit of age, but not old. Charismatic, but not, you know, so over the top she can't step back and be gracious in defeat. Tough in the campaign, but fair in office.
A woman. Just not... Hillary Clinton.
Like I say, I'm not really over my bitterness, yet. Gawd, I'm so sick of the unmeetable standards men set for women. So now I don't care what all else your politics are - if you're sexist, consider yourself boycotted by Sooey. No more links - I'm not even going to read your offensive drivel - even when it's free - how bitter is that, eh?
Tear down that wall, indeed. I'm just going to go around it.
