No, Let's Restrict YOUR Rights
My mother used to say (and probably still does) to people opposed to abortion, "So don't have an abortion". And that was really all there was to say, as far as she was concerned. As I get older I realize that's pretty much all there is to say to anti-choice people, too. I mean, why argue with people who think it's okay to restrict the rights of others just because they don't agree they should have them.
But there's no point in arguing with anybody about anything to do with human rights, I've discovered (thank you, Internet). If you don't understand that the rights of others are your rights, too, then you're not worth the oxygen it would take for an argument. And if you're on the political Right and asking for government intervention to restrict the expansion of civil rights to others, then you don't even make sense to yourself, do you.
