Virginity - The New Black

Where has all the honesty gone? When I was a girl we knew that virginity was something to leave behind, for better or worse, when the time was right or not, which it never was because chances were, we lost it to another virgin, neither virgin considering each other's virginity a virtue of any kind whatsoever. Certainly we didn't consider our own virginity a virtue. It was just there like a big dork until it wasn't and we could feel a modicum of cool for having done the deed. In fact, I bet we cared less about losing ours than boys cared about losing theirs since they at least had orgasms. We were just orgasmed upon, as it were.

Really, the information to be imparted to girls is, don't expect much re sex until you're 40. Then, expect a lot. In between, practice birth control and safe sex. And always always always - do what YOU want. That's how to empower girls sexually - or is this virginity craze just another attempt by society to make girls and women feel guilty for enjoying themselves instead of saddling themselves with marriage and a house in the 'burbs like they're supposed to for the good of the "community".
