Tough Love for Athletes
You know what I think? I think we should put even less money into sports in this country. I mean, c'mon. Otherwise, as Rightwingers say about everything else, we're just throwing money at the problem (the problem of not winning enough medals to satisfy Rightwingers, I mean). So, why not strip sports of all funding to toughen up Canadian athletes and REALLY get them ready to win at the next Olympics? It's speed and strenght that'll win us gold medals, not more taxpayer dollars going to fund team outfits and jaunts to competitions. And let's face it, the Americans spend way less money on sports than they do on war and elections and their athletes did great. And forget about competing with the Chinese. London has. I heard some guy on the radio say the next Olympics would be "intimate". Aw. I thought it'd be funny to see 'em bulldozing Buckingham Palace to make for an athletes' village...
