Since freedom of religion in Canada has pretty clearly in these modern heretic times come to mean the right to discriminate against your fellow citizens, why is it still considered a valid concept worth protecting? Because it seems to me that freedom of religion, and the attendant argument for it, consistently comes into direct conflict with the rights of women, homosexuals, divorced people - anyone who doesn't fall within a category defined as worthy-not-to-be-discriminated-against by most religious institutions - to not be discriminated against. And since the right to not be discriminated against based on your religion is pretty much covered under our anti-discrimination laws, why are we turning those same laws upside down and inside out to allow religious institutions to discriminate against women, homosexuals, divorced people, whoever doesn't fit their completely arbitrary out-of-date man-made made-up worthiness templates?

While 9/11 ultimately revealed every negative American stereotype to be true, the longer Obama is President, the more it would appear that the negative white Republican American stereotype is even truer, which, is a good thing - since the truth shall set us free.

And wouldn't it be a wonderful thing if Americans could finally see through to the real America, the one the rest of us see, the one that is actually there?

Have you noticed that whenever the New Conservatives get caught doing something wrong, they lie about it? And then their staff takes the fall for them?

New Conservative MP Code of Ethics:

1. When caught red-handed - lie.
2. If still caught red-handed - go on the aggressive.
3. If being caught red-handed persists, order your staff to take the fall for you.

Okay. Maybe. But until God ponies up to get his name on a ballot, I guess you'll have to settle for Obama.

I read the odd Liberal blogger strategist - and they are, to a man, and the odd woman, odd - and it's pretty clear to me that, regardless of all evidence to the contrary as to the right thing to do, the Liberal Election Strategy is "AON - All Or Nothing" as opposed to "ABC - Anything But Conservative" (feel free to rip that one off, CanWest lurkers).

Well, Sooey is here to tell you that you're completely out-of-step with everybody who is Left of the Conservatives (and everybody does not necessary include you, but that's another story), which is to say, those of us who are tired of Liberal Party out-of-steppedness and its failure to adapt to the fact of our political relationship - which is definitely at the "it's not us - it's you" stage. We don't like you, the Liberal Party. Change leaders, don't change leaders - we still won't like you. And one of the reasons why we don't like you is because you're so "All Or Nothing" in your election strategy - in spite of the fact that, it's not us who needs you, it's you who needs us.

"All Or Nothing" will lead us in one direction, Liberal Party - straight to a Conservative majority government. Just because you haven't changed, doesn't mean everything else hasn't.

The more I pay attention to what The Bloc has to say these days, the more I'm inclined to think it should run candidates across the country. Then, like, those of us who joined The Bloc from outside Quebec could start agitating for a more firgurative kind of separation from the rest of Canada, rather than the completely unrealistic literal one.

It needs work, but I think I've got the germ of an idea here. I mean, I'm a Federalist, but even I can see that Quebec is way ahead of the rest of Canada in terms of its social programs, cultural aspirations, and safe-guarding of civil liberties. And it's not like it won't need Anglophones who know our way around those dumbfuck Yankees and those toffee-nosed Brits to run a bit of interference every now and again.

To the drawing board!
